As the sky shows, we were suffering a bout of real Dartmoor weather when we visited Meldon Junction on this occasion in about 1984 or 1985. Even ASA 400 film could do little to compensate for the gloomy conditions!

A tarmac road had been constructed from Meldon Viaduct to the junction in connection with the building of nearby Meldon Dam, but by this time it was disused and returning to nature.
