The southern end of the down line tunnel at Winsor Hill near Shepton Mallet
13th October 2007
A ghostly mist emanates from the tunnel mouth. After the closure of the line this bore of the tunnel was used to test one of the Olympus engines being developed for Concorde. The engine was run without oil and was expected to destroy itself within 20 minutes. In the event it lasted for two hours.
